Starting
the inquiry
In this first inquiry, you will analyze and reflect on your personal
experiences with writing, reading, and/or speaking. Your inquiry will be based
on one or several questions that you are interested in exploring in your paper.
Here are some suggestions:
1.
Was there a moment
in your life when you were particularly successful/ unsuccessful as a writer or
speaker? Can you describe that experience in some detail? Can you say why you
perceived that moment as successful/ unsuccessful? What did you (not) achieve?
And what did you learn from that moment?
2.
Was there a person
(parent, teacher, friend, relative, etc.) in your life who had a special impact
on your writing or speaking skills? Can you talk about that person? Can you explain
why he or she made such a difference in your life?
3.
Is there a (literary
or non-literary) text or story that has played a major role in your
life? Did or does a specific medium impact your life, such as books, television
shows, radio broadcasts, or the internet? Why? What have you learned?
4.
